Hello! We are Alessandra and Corrado. We are not natives of the island, on the contrary.

Alessandra, my wife, is from Emilia, I am from Brescia. We came to Pantelleria on holiday, like many others.

And, like many, we fell in love with it.

The island of wind, silence, deep blue sky, a sea with a thousand shades and wild nature, in the heart of the Mediterranean.

And so, almost for fun, we decided to transform our house, purchased and renovated in the meantime, into a place to welcome those who, like us, want to discover the wonders of this little paradise.

We live here, on the same property.

A discreet presence, I would say invisible, but available to our guests for advice, help or simply a chat and maybe, why not, a dinner in company.

We take direct care of our structure so that our guests can find the ideal place to spend their holidays.

Each dammuso has a small collection of books, classic and contemporary novels, available to guests who want to spend a few hours of their stay on the island immersed in reading. We will be happy if you want to feed this collection with a book dear to you, left available to guests who, after you, will stay at Il Carrubo Egoista.

The photographs on the site are constantly changing, because Il Carrubo Egoista is constantly evolving following the tastes and "whims" of those who live there....

Come on, come and visit us!

Corrado and Alessandra

All'ombra del carrubo

Insofferente del frastuono,

stanco d'ascoltare parole

e frasi fatte di dubbia

ed ostentata saggezza,

cerco adesso il silenzio,

la solitudine, la compagnia

dei miei pensieri e dei ricordi.

Trovo ristoro all'ombra di un carrubo

maestoso ed antico, ma isolato,

come oasi in un deserto rovente,

dove riposare lo sguardo

accecato dal sole.

E là, seduto su una scomoda pietra,

ripercorrere il passato,

confrontarlo col presente,

interrogarsi sul futuro,

pur sapendo di non trovare risposte.

Non resta che abbracciare

l'immenso tronco nodoso,

per assorbirne il vigore

e rispondere con un sorriso

al sussurro pacato

delle sue tremolanti foglie
